Haiku’s March 2012
1.
crows
=====
the large black wings of a
crow flapping against the silence
Of an empty midday’s sky
2.
an old pond in the woods
========================
sitting by an old pond
forgotten by this modern world
the water is silent
3.
back porches at night
=====================
eerily beautiful
the tall grass is swaying in the wind
as the wind chimes sound
4.
Wine
====
a bottle of wine
left out to breathe on the table
-these lonely drinks
5.
the long walk home
==================
the seasons last snowfall
harsh cold air burning our lungs
-winter dies screaming
6.
smoking my pipe
===============
smoke billowing as the
tobacco smolders in my bowl
my mind goes wandering
7.
lost
====
every single thing
I once had was lost more than
a lifetime ago
8.
choose your words
=================
as we sit here and talk
all the words behind my confessions
lapses in judgment
9.
the forest at night
===================
my footsteps trail off
into the shadows as the forest
comes alive at night
10.
reflections over a smoke
========================
smoking this old pipe
sitting patiently in my chair
I’m growing older
11.
addiction
=========
I’ve managed to
fritter the whole day away with
these little angry birds
12.
Life
====
Nobody wins
every body loses
and for what?
13.
Prayers
=======
distant prayers
flickering in the night like candles
but we all turn to dust
14.
a growing apathy
================
my day begins an
echo of yesterday sipping my
coffee I pretend care
15.
someone I used to be
====================
dwelling in a life
made up of the hopes & dreams of
someone I used to be
16.
the city at night
=================
a frigid cold wind
silently whispers as I pass
Desolate city streets
17.
beneath this tree
frustrations warping calmly,
around a smoke
18.
a fine quality
===========
Elegant things
exhibit refined grace and
dignified propriety
19.
whispers of wisdom
==================
don’t think about how
your feet are chained to the earth
when your hands can reach the sky
20.
I’m sitting on the
ground and thinking of the day ahead
with a vacant stare
