out here in the nights
cold air splayed out, a bleeding
stuck pig dying in the mud

our neighborhood was thick
with the scent of freshly cut grass
the month drew to a close

and in desperate need of
tobacco tonight…

that her tongue was only pregnant
with still born ideas
